I really love 2-piece cookie sets. Not only do they make great gift options, but the larger size allows for the details to be decorated more easily, while splitting up the design maintains a manageable size for each cookie.

As I was decorating these sitting bunny cookies, I didn't know how much I would love them until I added the last detail. I think it was the rosy cheeks that did it for me.

Here's how I made them.

Sitting Easter Bunny Cookie Cutter Set

Just added to the shop for the upcoming Easter season is this Easter Bunny Cookie Cutter Set.

The cookie cutters are available in Regular and Large sizes. However, for this tutorial, I'll be decorating the LARGE size.

For reference, you can see both sizes at the end of this tutorial, along with recommended gift box sizes.

Templates for the Sitting Easter Bunny Cookie Set

To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template available for all the new Easter spring cookie cutter designs, including this bunny cookie set.

You can download these cookie templates HERE.

If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.

The Cookie Decorating Process

For the colors used for this sitting bunny cookie set, you will need the following suggested colors:

For the extra colors I used on the other cookies, check out this post on a bright and cheery Easter color palette.

Step 1

For the bunny head, begin by filling in the inner ear sections with pink icing. Let that icing set.

Then, fill in the face section with white icing. Fill in everything but the eye hole areas, as shown.

Step 2

Next, fill in the outer white edges of the ears and then fill in the eye holes with black icing. Quickly add white shine detail dots to the eyes.

Lastly, add the nose with pink icing. This is optional, but I thought rosy cheeks would be a nice touch to this cookie. I used pink petal dust from this petal dust palette and applied it with a food only paintbrush.

Step 3

For the body cookie, fill in every other section and let each section dry before moving on to the next section.

Start with sections that don't touch each other first, and continue until the base layer is filled.

Step 4

Add the final details on the feet like the pink foot pads. I also outlined the feet so there would be more dimension and allowed them to visually stand out more.

Sitting Easter Bunny Cookie Set Video Tutorial

The steps above are summarized in this time-lapsed video I put together below.

These sitting Easter bunny cookies come in two size options: LARGE and REGULAR.

In the next three photos, you can see all the LARGE options housed in this BRP cookie box (7" x 4 3/8" x 1.25").

Here is the boy option.

Here is the girl option (same body but slightly different head for the bow).

And here is an Easter chick option.

For more variety, I thought adding an extra cookie would be nice.

Here's the LARGE Bunny set with a REGULAR chubby carrot. You could add a name to the carrot for a personalized gift.

This is placed in this BRP cookie box (9.5" x 6" x 1.5").

And here's a LARGE chick set with a REGULAR egg. This is also placed in this BRP cookie box (9.5" x 6" x 1.5").

And finally, if you wanted to include both a chick and a bunny in a set, the REGULAR size option for both set would fit in this BRP long cookie box (12″ x 5″ x 1.5″).
