Cookie Templates for These Valentine Pun Cookies

To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template available for these cute pun cookie sets.

You can download these cookie templates HERE.

If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.

The Cookie Decorating Process

Decorating cookies always starts with a good royal icing recipe. This is the royal icing recipe that I always use.

For these silly goose cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:

Step 1

Begin by filling in the white body section, as shown. Let this icing set.

Then add the beak and two feet sections with orange icing.

Step 2

Next, add the black eye detail and the beginnings of the bow detail, as show. Let this icing set again.

Then add the remaining bow details and the outlines of the body detail.

Step 3

For a finishing touch, I draw on a beak nostril with a black food pen.

Step 4

For the coordinating heart message cookie, begin by flooding the entire cookie with red icing. Let this icing dry completely.

Then I used the "I'm so Silly for you!" Cookie Stencil with super thick white icing. I used a Stencil Genie to hold the stencil in place while I swiped icing over the design.

Valentine Silly Goose Cookie Set Video Tutorial

The steps above are summarized in this time-lapsed video I put together below.

Below are the completed sets of these pun cookies.

Just a reminder, I used the LARGE size for all of these cookies.

For the final presentation, I placed the cookies inside a clear cookie box with a rainbow gingham card backer underneath to make the design pop. It’s a simple way to elevate your gift and give it a polished, professional look—perfect for Valentine’s Day gifting!
