Camera Lucida App Giveaway

Tis the season for giving! What better way to spread holiday cheer than to hand out more gifts!

Today, the maker of the iPad/iPhone App, Camera Lucida, would love to give a few readers a free download of this incredible application.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Camera Lucida App, it's a drawing aid that shows a transparent image on a mobile device which can be used for tracing the image on a surface below.

But how does this relate to cookie decorating? Well, the Camera Lucida App is a great substitution for an expensive KopyKake projector. Sarah, over at Klickatat Street, posted an amazing tutorial on how to utilize this App on an iPad for decorating cookies. You can see Sarah in action with the Camera Lucida App in the video below.

The Camera Lucida App is pretty versatile. Aside from cookies, I was able to use it as a drawing aid to deck my halls for the holiday season. Below, the chalkboard drawing that hangs in my office was made using the App. I just placed the chalkboard on the floor, propped an iPad on a tripod about 2 feet high, opened Camera Lucida with an image I liked, and got to tracing with chalk. Easy!
