If you are returning to this blog, you might notice the site design has been updated. I have Mike Casebolt to thank for that. Mike has an awesome online portfolio of his work. After checking out his previous branding projects for his other customers, I knew that I liked his style and wanted to work with him for my site.
For inspiration, I gave Mike a few examples of what I was looking for in a logo and he came up with 3 worthy designs for me to choose one from. He knew exactly what I wanted: a baking theme that was both masculine and had a vintage feel. It was a difficult decision for me to pick just one.
The design I ended up choosing was inspired by molten metal work. I loved Mike’s idea of playing off of a blacksmith forging metal. It mimics my actual cookie process of starting off with soft, poured royal icing, then drying into a hardened, finished design.
Mike was so great to work with. He had great communication, always keeping me in the loop as to what he was working on. I am very happy with the end result. As a thank you, I made Mike a batch of cookies of his own brand logo.
If you ever have a need for a graphic design project I recommend heading over to Mike’s site. I’m sure he can help you out.
